Beginning Genealogy: Tracing Your Family Tree

Monday, September 28, 2020 – 6:00PM – 7:00PM CST

Evelyn Nabors-Cole, Past Vice President of the Afro-American Genealogical and Historical Society of Chicago, believes we honor our ancestors by remembering their names and telling their stories. Join her for a presentation on how to get started in researching your family tree, especially suitable for people with African-American backgrounds. You will learn how to get started and about important topics like pedigree charts, birth, marriage and death records, and online databases, and much more.

Ms. Nabors-Cole has completed the National Genealogical Society course in American genealogy, hosted a family history talk show on CAN-TV, published several family history books, and presents workshops on genealogy and family history keepsakes.
