Erwin Polk, Co-founder & V.P. Genealogy of the Delaware chapter of AAHGS, will talk about  African American soldiers’ participation in the U.S. Military during World War II, including the military units in which they served.
Erwin Polk was interviewed on “The Today Show” on July 3, 1993 about ancestors that fought in the American Revolution.  He is a great grandson of a Buffalo Soldier that served from 1882 to 1892.  3X great grandmother Mary & her children were freed by a will in 1809 & appeared in the special Maryland Census for 1832. Her husband was listed in the 1850 Census.
