Intimidated by the prospect of writing that “epic” family history? Do you have boxes of pictures, research documents or heirlooms but you’re not sure how to put them together to tell a story? Need some help?
Join us for our first exciting “Show-Me-How” Workshop. This three-day virtual workshop, open to members and registered guests, will focus on telling small parts of your family history through pictures and short vignettes. We will share ideas and present a number of suggestions that you can use to document people, documents, heirlooms, events, and stories in your ancestors’ lives. We will review the pros, cons, and costs of a number of online sources that are available to use for your photo story. Finally, using one of the available resources, we will do a hands-on demonstration of using photos, inserting text, changing fonts and colors, changing sizes, and adding various embellishments to prepare a “professional” Family History Photo Book. This is not a workshop on writing and publishing your epic family history.
If you are ready to take your genealogy research to a new level; if you are willing to “get your hands dirty” by trying something new and fun; if you want to let your creative energy shine, then this is the workshop for you! Your final book will be a priceless addition to your research library, a great holiday family gift idea, or an interesting conversation-starting “coffee table” book.
The three-day interactive workshop will be building on the discussions of the previous meetings so you won’t want to miss a single presentation! The workshop will be recorded and available for members in our Members Only Video Archive for reference and review.
